Between December 1944 and February 1945, The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific or ‘Rock Island’ took delivery of 500 40′ boxcars in two orders, placed with Pressed Steel Car. The orders specified 10’6” interior height, 6’ doors, Murphy Panel Roofs, 5-5 Dreadnought ends and built to the 1937 AAR Modified standard, but with the unique Duryea cushioned under frame with Z26 centre sill. This Mini Kit includes resin castings to correctly model the prototype’s Duryea under frame with Z26 type centre sill. Kit also includes under frame etchings, decals and complete instructions. Decals also include the ‘100 Years of Progress’ herald.
