Introducing National Scale Car

Hello fellow prototype railroad modellers. This is the first of hopefully many posts, regarding new kit releases from National Scale Car. Our focus is mini kits. For those unfamiliar with the mini kit concept, it allows a modeller to take a mass produced piece of rolling stock and transform it into a unique version of the prototype – by substituting parts such as ends, doors or under frames.

Our first mini kit releases are HO Scale and are based on 40′ Boxcars built by National Steel Car of Hamilton Ontario. The cars were built between 1954 and 1956 with the unique NSC3 end and featured 6′ wide doors.

National Scale Car launched April 14th at the LakeShore Model Railroader Association show. We sold more kits than expected, but still have some inventory from our first run. More parts are in the pipeline, and we will add kits to inventory as soon as they arrive.

If there is enough interest in kits supplied with CP Multi Mark Decals, I will add these to our line. Please use the contact page to express your interest.
