Description
In 1912 the Rutland had AC &F build 500 double sheathed cars of 36′ length. These were the main fleet of the Rutland until 1924 when Youngstown Steel Car co. built 300 40′ double sheathed cars, these were added to the 8000-8299 series. At the same time 200 Automobile cars were built and placed int he 9000-9199 series. The Rutland started a rebuilding program shortly before WW2 and random cars from the 8000 and 9000 series cars were rebuilt and placed on the 6000 series. They received AB brakes. The auto cars 10′ door was reduced to 6′ if rebuilt. This set will letter two cars, includes two of the artwork shown. Intended for the Storzek, F&C and Westerfield Kits.
