Description

In 1960 SP&S converted 74 of its  23000 Series gondolas into wood chip cars by adding wood framed extensions. These conversions were done at the roads Vancouvewr shops. The extension brought the cars height to 15’ above the rail head with a capicty of 4358 cubic feet. In 1962 a furhter two cars were converted with a height of 15 feet and 7/16” with a capacity of 4359 cubic feet. The cars were placed in the 23500-23575 numbers series.
